Total Defence (Silver) Badge Field Trip to Singapore Discovery Centre

On 30 January 2009, 28 of our Secondary 2 and 3 cadets embarked on a field trip to the Singapore Discovery Centre to learn about the five aspects of Total Defence.

The cadets were shown around the various exhibition halls at the centre and had a great time trying out the simulator machines and team game stations. Throughout the visit, the cadets also had to gather useful facts about Total Defence and do self-reflections at each station as part of the requirement to earn the Total Defence (Silver) UG Badge. A group of 8 cadets even had the opportunity to set the day's record high score for a interactive quiz station on facts about the different races in Singapore.

At the end of the tour, the cadets also did a group presentation to showcase what they have learnt about Total Defence from the trip.

As the photographs taken can testify, the field trip was a memorable occasion for the cadets to learn about Total Defence and get to know their fellow cadets better. LCP Khairul (2EB) perhaps aptly summed up how his fellow cadets felt about the trip during the debriefing session in school: "It was fun!".
